Australia to get iPad 3G first, giggling starts

As we reported in January, the iPad will be lobbing in Australia in late March for those of us media types – grin – who get a test-drive, with a general release in April.
What we didn’t know is that we’d be getting the 3G version straight up! Tasty.
As Australian Personal Computer mag reports the local Apple site has been updates to reveal that it will be the 3G, not the Wi-Fi version that will be the first iCab of the iRank.
OK, enough iJokes. This is great news and, as APC speculates, is probably because Apple (ie the iPhone) isn’t locked into one carrier here, so Apple can open the 3G floodgates early.
Of course, maybe Apple just mistyped on their site … but then again, they never do that.
