Publishers (still) fighting basic ebook economics

Via www. Techdirt.com
From the fighting-basic-economics-is-never-a-good-idea dept…
For a while now, we’ve been discussing how the pricing on ebooks doesn’t make much sense, and almost certainly needs to fall. Will Kindle apps kill off the device?

A day after the Kindle app lobbed onto the Blackberry (in the US only – hear the teeth gnashing elsewhere around the world?), it’s time to ask whether Amazon is in danger of apping themselves out of the Kindle hardware business. If that’s their goal, I think they’re heading in the right direction.

Win a Kindle this month

Another Aussie (some would say competing) blog/site is running a competition to win a brand new Kindle. All you need to do is sign up for their email newsletter before the end of the month.
Two reasons why I shouldn’t have told you this:
1. It reduces my chances of winning (yes, I have one, but I [...]
