It's an e-reader with an E-Ink screen on the left and a small LCD plus keypad on [...]
How to design for ebooks – course notes

via arthurattwell.com
During last year at Electric Book Works, I received more and more calls from publishers (of all sizes) wondering how they should start making ebooks. While I point a lot of people towards outsourcing conversion, I actually don't believe that's a long-term solution for a frontlist. Making ebooks should be a zero-cost by-product of [...]

As you may have heard by now, the iPad won't be on sale in Australia until "late April", at which point Aussie iPadders will be able to choose either flavour – W-Fi or 3G.
What a downer. This is quite unusual for Apple, doing a "launch" announcement, then allowing delays (and possibly a production shortage) to [...]

Posted on 03. Mar, 2010 by JD in News, kindle, review
Yes, you'd have to say that India is one of the great untapped ebook markets. But the tap has begun dripping with online retailer infibeam.com's recent launch of their Pi ereader.
Sure, there's a lot about it that looks like a direct knockoff from the Kindle – not least of which is the Infibeam logo – [...]
CeBIT Video: Asus DR-900

Looks like a slick 9-inch device, but has the usual e-Ink refresh lag, and – worryingly for me – takes more than the usual amount of pressure to get the touchscreen to respond. But it looks very light and thin and comes in wi-fi and 3G versions. No word on pricing or availability yet.
